"奧運在英國如火如荼的進行著。聽說台灣的新聞都沒有BBC轉播。轉載筆者嫁至倫敦的老友在FaceBook上寫的一段話：台灣進場時的介紹，我將原文po上再看一次還是很感動：「Chinese Taipei, who first entered the Olympic Games in 1956. They've won 2 gold medals since that time, in Tai Quan Do. Formerly Formosa, (it's the Portuguese word for beautiful, which I'm sure it is). A country of 23 million people, they prefer to call their island Taiwan, of course.」問老公為何她要加個of course強調？老公說：英國人都知道──台灣這個國家就叫台灣。理所當然。誰知道Chinese Taipei是啥？我們英國人不喜歡粗暴的中國……難怪！中國隊進場時， BBC女記者說：「Chinese is coming！」那個語調，颇堪玩味。

每每讀到類似的文章，身為這一代的台灣人不知該喜或悲？這麼多的外國人認同台灣；支持台灣。為什麼我們無法勇敢的站出來，堅決的宣示：「我是台灣人，台灣主權屬於全體台灣人民所有」。"
